Outcome Data

The Center for Career Development partners with Notre Dame's Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Research to provide data regarding student internship experiences and career outcomes upon graduation.

First Destination Data

Published annually, the First Destination Report provides insight into the various career paths that Notre Dame students have embarked upon graduation. Data is collected through an online survey administered by the Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Research before Commencement in May. Consistent with standards established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Center for Career Development conducts follow-up research and contact with recent graduates for a period of six months after graduation to obtain the most accurate information about post-graduation plans. "Knowledge rate" refers to information which Notre Dame has reasonable and verifiable information concerning post-graduation career activities. Data sources include self-reported survey results, employer-provided data, contact from students, verified updates to LinkedIn, etc.). Content of the First Destination Report includes:

  • Destinations (employment, graduate school, service, military, etc.)
  • Employing organizations
  • Graduate school programs
  • Median salaries

A variety of reports are provided to prospective students and the general public. Notre Dame students, faculty, and staff are also provided additional, restricted access reports to utilize for career exploration.

Summer Experience Survey

The Center for Career Development, along with the Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Research, publishes an annual report of student summer experiences. Each fall semester, the Center for Career Development surveys students to learn about their summer internships and other experiences. A multi-year report of summer experiences will be available here in the 2019 Fall Semester. In the interim, summer experience data is available for review with our Undergraduate Career Services staff by scheduling an appointment.

Please know that the Center for Career Development was established in 2018. Reports prior to 2018 were generated by The Career Center. Questions regarding the outcomes and survey data can be directed to CareerDevelopment@nd.edu.
