Software Engineering Week | March 3-8, Virtual

Decode The Interview, an initiative of the Meruleo Family Centre for Career Development, is hosting multiple virtual panels with topics & speakers coming from different sectors of the industry! Learn about the differences in firm cultures and work styles, and take away valuable insights into how to prepare for a successful recruitment and career in Software Engineering and Product Management.

Software Engineering Recruiting Panel | Wednesday, March 3, 7:30-8:30pm
If you have questions regarding any and all things recruiting, attend this workshop and get your questions answered! Fellow upperclassmen that have gone through the recruitment process will be giving an overview of the recruiting timeline, highlighting when and how to apply to internships and share personal experiences with advice for networking and pre-internship opportunities. Lastly, prepare for both your behavioral and technical interviews. This is a great workshop for underclassmen who are entering into the recruitment process for the first time, have unanswered questions, or need a little guidance regarding what to do next to land an internship.

Entrepreneurship & Startups Panel | Thursday, March 4, 6:30-7:30pm
Certain career paths are clear. Others are very unique...and this couldn’t be truer for startups. How does one break into the startup world and become an entrepreneur? As it turns out, there are MANY ways to do so. Hear from people who were once in your very same position, talk about the paths they took into the startup world, and the lessons they learned along the way. Get advice on how to break-in, and hear from the experts, who are living it, give their advice on what it takes to be successful. Guest speakers include current Google employees and other serial entrepreneurs.

Big Tech Panel | Thursday, March 4, 8:00-9:00pm
Want to know what it’s like to work as a software engineer at some of the biggest, top-rated companies in the world? Meet with ND CS alums currently working at Uber, Apple, Google, and Amazon. Listen to them discuss their experiences at Notre Dame, give an overview and preparation guide for the technical and behavioral interviews, and hear more about what they are working on right now. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Big Tech with some of the most successful ND CS grads!

Coding Competition | Saturday, March 6, 12:00-4:00pm, Award Ceremony: 4:15-4:30pm
Compatible for all skill-levels, the first Decode The Interview Coding Contest, is open to everyone. Whether it is your first time in a coding competition and you want to gain experience or you are a master programmer looking to win a prize, there is space for you! There will be lots of prizes across many categories such as overall fastest solutions, top performers in each class, and many more. This is a great opportunity to put your coding skills to the test and have fun solving the problems!

Intro to Product Management Panel with Google PMs | Monday, March 8, 8:00-9:00pm

Often referred to the CEO of their product, product managers bring together a variety of skills and work with cross-functional teams to build products that customers desire.
