Summer 2026 President's Circle Mentor Program

Co-facilitated by the Meruelo Family Center for Career Development and the President’s Circle and Cavanaugh Council programs, the President’s Circle Mentor Program is a prestigious, three-month summer program that connects students one-on-one with Notre Dame’s most notable benefactors. Mentors are accomplished professionals in senior leadership roles, including CEOs, partners, surgeons, lawyers, vice presidents, and managing directors.
This program is open to first-years, sophomores and juniors. Students who are matched will have the opportunity to engage with a mentor at least three times in the summer. Conversations during in-person or virtual meetings will include sharing of professional experiences, industry insights, and professional advice. You will also be invited to a networking event on campus in the fall with President's Circle and Cavanaugh Council members.
Our program committee does our best to match pairs based upon the mentor's background and career expertise and what each student states as their career interests, background, and goals. When possible we also try to match students and mentors by location so they have the option to meet in person.
Program goals
- To provide student mentees with the opportunity to connect with a professional mentor that has been successful in their career path/industry.
- To assist the student mentee with advice on growing as a professional and serving as an outstanding student to thrive while at Notre Dame and beyond.
- To serve as a resource for the student mentee during the school year regarding questions, advice, career exploration, networking, and professional development.
- To facilitate student mentee's discernment and exploration of careers and integrate a transition from an academic environment to the world of work.
- To help the student mentee set short- and long-term professional growth goals with their mentor for their remaining years at Notre Dame and beyond.
Interested in having a mentor?
The application for the summer 2026 President's Circle Mentor Program will went live on Tuesday, March 3. The priority application deadline was Wednesday, March 31.
Although the priority application deadline has passed, you are welcome to submit an application for consideration; however, priority will be given to applications which were received by March 31.
By filling out this application, a President's Circle Mentor match is not guaranteed. A different number of mentors volunteer from the President's Circle each year, making it difficult to predict whether or not a student will be matched. We also do not guarantee that your mentor will come from your preferred industry, but all mentors will provide useful advice and guidance from their years of professional success and unique life experiences.
